Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser (a foaming gel cleanser) by Image Skincare is a favorite among skincare lovers for many reasons. It’s cooling, calming, and leaves skin feeling clean.

Read on to find out more about this lovely cleanser from the point of view of an esthetician.

Amanda’s Skin Type

Combination (though prone to being oily).

Amanda’s Skin Concerns

Acne-prone, hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin), oily, uneven tone, sometimes dry.

How do you use this facial cleanser?

I cleanse with it twice a day, morning and night, with lukewarm water – being sure to include my neck and chest because those are important areas. They tend to be neglected when using skincare products.

What are your favorite ingredients in the Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser and why:

*Organic aloe vera – because it is both soothing and healing

*Japanese green tea (organic) super antioxidant– helps battle against environmental damages (excessive sun exposure, pollutants like cigarette smoke, etc.) and protects against UV damage by increasing the efficacy of sunscreen products

*Flower & comfrey extract– anti-inflammatory, astringent and antiseptic. It also helps heal breakouts, as well as calms and protects skin from minor abrasions. Perfect for those dealing with acne who need a break from harsh & drying acne skincare products.

What are some improvements you’ve seen in your skin since using the Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser?

I’ve struggled with an uneven skin tone my entire life. There were times when I wasn’t comfortable leaving the house without putting some makeup on to even it out. I am happy to say that the biggest changes I’ve seen overall are a more balanced appearance of my uneven skin tone. I’ve also seen a less acne breakouts and oiliness.

Darker skin like mine produces more melanin (which gives our skin its color). So, I constantly deal with excessive pigmentation each time I break out. This type of pigmentation is “post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation” or PIH. It is a dark mark left over after the inflammation from a breakout fades.

The Japanese green tea in this Ormedic cleanser helps boost the SPF of the daily hydrating sunscreen that I use. This gives my skin extra protection from the UV damage that causes skin darkening.

I believe this extra protection has helped to lessen my chances of further darkening the PIH that usually occurs each time I get a breakout. This allows my skin to heal and look more even.

Other changes I’ve seen are the reduction in the amount of breakouts that I experience, as well as oiliness (which usually occurs about midday). My skin used to always feel dry in some places; the Balancing Facial Cleanser has great beneficial ingredients like arvna sativa (oat) kernel extract to help keep it feeling hydrated.

Overall, I really like this cleanser. I am happy with the results that I’ve seen from using it every day these past few months and highly recommend it.
